Lovely day - Citroënian {P}
Every so often you see something that makes you smile for the rest of the day.

Picture the scene, silver Vauhall Astra being driven at 30 on a road that you could do 40 on were it not for the 30 speed limit. Fair enough.

Enter the picture a Toyota Landcruiser Amazon, determined to make the Astra go faster, mainly by driving 18 inches from its bumper.

Imagine my laughter at the traffic lights 500 yards later when the door of the Astra opens and a very annoyed plain clothes policeman gets out waving his badge and and proceeds to read the driver of the Toyota the riot act. Not sure if he gave a ticket as I drove off whilst the dressing down was still in progress.

And it's a bank holiday weekend coming up!

It'd have made a great video, and of the sort that would work around the world without the need to understand the language!

:-)

Well, at least he stayed 18" back - unlike the lady in the Jeep Cherokee Grand-something who reduced the distance to -2" by tailgating so closely she drove into the back of my Merc!

Anyway - excellent job done by the copper.

M25 Monday evening. P reg Xantia estate with its suspension obviously stuck on high, bobbing along at 70 mph. Woman driver following similar motion.

Probably quite dangerous, my recollection of hydropneumatic Citroens is that the high setting is for slow moving manoevres such as flood driving.

Nice to see a tailgater getting a ticking off for a change!

Lee Citroënian - you're obviously a 'Seinfeld' fan like myself judging by your various quotes from the series!
Lovely day - Citroënian {P}
Seinfeld - yes, you're right - I think the series was probably the best thing on TV in the past few years; could never understand why it was hidden away on BBC, perhaps it wasn't quite right for English tastes.

Hoping tomorrow I'll see a Corsa with its front fog lamps on fire....

I am a Seinfeld addict - get my daily fix on Para Comedy. The star of the great show is Kramer IMHO. The way he comes thru doors and falls around, apart from his amazing lines, is just sOOOOOOOOO funny!
Lovely day - Citroënian {P}
If you get the DVDs and are tragic enough to watch the on screen notes, they keep a count of the number of entrances Kramer makes, along with such things as Jerry's Girlfriend #32 - the Low Talker. I'll not ruin it for you by telling you the number of entrances he's made so far up to series 6.

I love the way they all come together - nothing wasted.

Mandelbaum! Mandelbaum! Mandelbaum!

Is that a yellow Honda Civic 3dr outside Jerry's aparment in the cut scenes (desperately trying to get back on topic, seeing as it's not Friday!)

Yeah, its a yellow Civic CRX IIRC, theres a few nice cars featured, in earlier episodes he drove a BMW, but switched to SAAB mid way...of course, Jerry is a Porsche fanatic in real life! The DVDs are great, loads of features, just got to wait for series 7 to come out now!
