Diesel Shelf Life - edster
Does anyone know the shelf life of diesel?

I've had a trawl around the internet and the
best info I have found to date is 18 - 24 months.
(*Although this was from a marine orientated website)

Cheers folks, edster

Only thing I am aware of is the summer/winter additives to prevent waxing

If any water is pesent it can lead to 'slime' or diesel bug (cladisporium resinae) contamination. It happens in boats where the diesel can be in the tank for a long time, and I think it can affect jet fuel as well. The bugs grow at the water/fuel interface - using the fuel as a food source IIRC. Not nice!

I know diesels are supposed to be economical but I didn't realise they were so good that you had to be careful that the fuel in your tank didn't go past it's "best before" date! Crikey!
