Hello
I have a 2003 SRi Astra (1800) and at about 75 mph the steering wheel begins to vibrate. This carries on as i increase the speed.
I have the wheels balanced 4 times and the problem still persists. The car is still in warranty and is going to vauxhall, again, this weekend. Would appreciate any suggestions, or, if anyone else has had the same problem?
Any ideas?
Thanks in Advance

Assuming you have alloys then it may be that the guy balancing them is only using a single weight in the middle band of the allow. Mush better to dynamically balance both the inner and outer ( well as far out as you can get ) of the alloys. Also check for a deformed tyre, either bulges or out of round. Regards Peter

It also may be worth asking them to put the car up on the ramps, and check that everything rotates "true", i.e., that nothing is buckled or out of round - not only the wheel, but also the driveshaft, any vibration "countermeasures" mounted on the driveshaft, and the CV joint, and hub.
