Fiat Stilo radiator replacement - normd
Hi There, anyone have experience of replacing a Stilo's (1.6, manual, 52 plate) radiator? A colleague's just been quoted £315 by the MD and is a bit dubious. Apparently there's a small leak "somewhere" - do I recall that sealants from accesory shops are not recommended?

first you need a pressure test to find out what your leak is? it might be just a loose hose clip, yes you can put rad weld in your expansion tank but a radiator from another motor factor like andrew page up here in yorkshire would be a lot cheaper.

The car has just been serviced at the MD, Chris knew he was losing coolant so asked them to check it. Their reply after the service was "it needs a new rad and that'll be 315 fitted please" So the question is " is 315 too steep as the local motor factor will charge 96-15 for a rad which adds up to over £200 labour charge" ( I know the argument for oem parts)

Go to a radiator specialist. They will bubble test it and probably be able to repair it for a lot less than £315!
