Has anyone fitted LED replacement bulbs to a recent car without using additional resistors(Peugeot 407 hopefully) and not had problems with indicator speed or bulb failure indication?

No hope, its fully multiplexed "can" bus bus wiring system and will detect a failure upon startup due to incorrect resistance.

That was quick....thanks for your help.....I was also wondering why LED car bulb makers dont fit internal resistors so that there would be no problems?

They will have to soon enough, its a problem on near every car released int he last two years, Certainly on my Touran and all new VW's.

Tried some on the bike (vibration kills my rear/stop lamps) they were useless - the 'colour' of the red is not visible through the red lens. Unless the wavelength of the LED matches that of the lens little or nothing passes through. Unless you're a fashion follower and have naff clear lenses.

Clear white leds will work behind a red lense.
If they put a resistor in to fool the installation it would glow just like a 21 watt bulb.

The 407 is even more advanced then multiplexed CAN-BUS
Its a CAN-CAN system.
So far Peugeot have used in order with the multiplexing system CAN-VAN, CAN-BUS & now there on CAN-CAN

Hows this for joined up electronic thinking.
The Touran is a fully electronic CAN system. All the doors have have switches, and light up the "door open warning" light. Except the rear hatch. Instead it stops the rear wash wipe working. You press the lever for a rear wipe or wash and nothing happens. So you get out and shut the door and the wiper/washer immediately gives the action you asked for on its own.
