Rover 216 Stalling Problem - Help! - apricot340

Help! I know nothing about cars, and mine has just started to play up. Drove 15miles home, and its started to stall at junctions and traffic lights etc - the revs just drop away. If I turn it off and leave it for a bit the problem goes away, then comes back after a few miles.

Any ideas? I'm hoping as it's intermittent it's not going to be too expensive/serious to fix...

They are the worst to fix on a rover,suggest first look would be at coil make sure you get a spark at plugs or/plug leads after it stops,make sure you use insulated pliers to do this and keep lead close to earth on engine not plastic cover,If no spark may be crank position sensor fairly common on these

If Honda, distributor ignition amplifier can fail.
