Yes, I know that M & M is, by and larger a dire offering, but I must confess to a liking for the used car road show programs.
Usually informative & entertaining and the sight of the delectable Penny Mallory is reason enough to watch!

Couldn't agree more Roger. Penny is still streets ahead of VBH (should get a response!). Jason is much better suited to this than he was TopGear and the cars are much more what most people will end up buying.
Good show!!
--Lee .. sorry, the card says Moops.

your both having a laugh?at least she has something worthwhile to say.

VBH is the blokes bird, You could imagine her drinking a pint with the lads and as for Penny? bit too posh for me!
|
>>and as for Penny? bit too posh for me!>>
I think that would come as a bit of a surprise to Penny herself...:-)
She was a pretty good driver in her sphere.
The main problem is that Penny is little more than a stooge for Jason's outpourings - not very fair on a lass who's been used to being one of the main presenters in this type of programme.
I watch it quite regularly and, personally, think it represents too much of a formula type of production - you know from start to finish what's going to happen and there are few surprises to relieve the hour.

I've seen most of the series this autumn and have enjoyed it. All "lifestyle" programmes on TV have a magazine format or formula, so Used Car Roadshow is similar to Top Gear and Fifth Gear in that respect.
I reckon Used Car Roadshow does a pretty good job of suggesting good value choices for those of us whose idea of motoring heaven isn't a WRX STi or Evo.
If it was a BBC programme it would be tightened up by being edited into a 30 minute slot - no need for all the "coming next" and "earlier" links either side of the commercials, but these are easily avoided by using Sky +.

Never watched it. When's it on?
Thanks
|
yes watch and like it and yes Penny is nice.
Perhaps they could use similar format for a serious motoring programme same presenters too.

I hate it.
It just feels cheap and nasty, many of the cars they feature are rubbish, he priases cars for all the wrong reasons, none of the deals are really that attractive and the telephone call at the end is obviously fake.
