Let's just say I stick to buying bangers off ebay, and I change my car every 3 months.
The only issue I can see is cancelling existing insurance and getting new cover.
So, is there a type of insurance (possibly motor trade) that would not be sky high but would cover me for driving different cars that belonged to me over the course of a year?

No need to cancel - just advise insurers of a new vehicle. Do it by phone, takes 5 mins max. If the new vehicle is in a higher group they'll take more money, if lower then they refund.
Most of us who practice bangernomics don't change until the car costs too much to MoT/repair. If it's not broken, why change it?

If you keep changing cars often - some insurance companies will charge a fee for processing different car details - even for same type of car the fee might be £10-£25 to cover their time and costs.
Changing cars less frequently possibly will not incur a charge as policyholders do change cars.

Just my own spin on bangernomics, but I thought it would be fun to change cars quite often, depending upon my mood. The main reason that stopped me before was depreciation. However, if I'm happy with old bangers, then I don't lose anywhere as much on depreciation.

Wasn't there a backroomer who had a problem with insurance with them saying he was changing too often??

Could think you are a part-time dealer working from home.

Perhaps changing every 6 months is better to use the road tax up?

What do you do with the "old" one?

Good old V Tired Eyes, who got through about eight (mainly new or nearly new) cars in twelve months. Where is he now?
As i recall, he actually didn't have a problem with the insurance co with regard to the frequent changing.

You could also change it on line?? I did a change last week where choice was either
1. Pick up my daughter from a "do" at 2am (thus forgoing my glass or three of red!)
2. Daughter gets a taxi (£20)
3. Do an online change by putting her on my insurance for a month which I did on Saturday night - cost £10 - and off she went in my car. Paid via my direct debit.(As usual it seemed to incur no cost to her!!)
Could you not do same when changing cars??
