I often enjoy as little light observation of drivers when I am not driving myself .
I have a little game which I call the "pink fluffy dice Index" where I can rate people on ego, sheer stupidity ,disregard for others, etc .
Just wanted to report that last night, walking to the local in my village ,I had a rare find, someone who scored maximum on all criteria.
Front fogs on in perfect visibility
Moronic "witty" reg plate
Kid unrestrained in back
No belt in use
On the phone
Also smoking
She probably had no idea of the distinction she has achieved.
There, I feel better now

Your driver's vehicle would need to have some totally pointless body mods in addition to the above, eg spoiler, front dam, Chas n' Karen sunstrip, big bore exhaust etc. before you can step up and fetch your prize!

|
One could add quite a few other criteria...
Any modifications (this could have a rich subset)
Would it pass an MOT
Insurance
volume of music
|
Sitting so far back they are nearly in the back
sunglasses on at night
can of strongbow in the cup holder
all seen next to me yesterday in a que of traffic
|
Leaning to the left slightly. I don't know why they do it, butr they all do.
I wonder if the continental equivalents all lean to the right?
|
Good one yesterday on the M6.
Pug 206 darkened windows mega spoiler kit chap sat so low he must have taken the seats out.
Best of all TWO twin exhausts...I didn't know 206's came with 4 litre engines and 500bhp.

Golf in South Wales recently with 8, yes, eight exhaust pipes. Probably a 1.4 as well.............Mind you, it set the hand painted body kit off a treat!

Someone?s post just reminded me, I saw a car in Warsaw a couple of weeks ago with spinners. The model escapes me now but it was something along the lines of a pale blue Hyundai saloon. Nothing else remarkable about it, just the spinners. Very funny.
Also saw my first car bra not so long ago on a similar unremarkable average little saloon. Drop-dead hideous. What?s that all about?

Why has nobody mentioned baseball hats yet, back to front or whatever?

Horrific isn?t it?
Why oh why oh why oh why oh why oh why oh why oh why oh why? Just makes me want to punch the driver.
|
Being devil's advocate, does it matter what the front of your car looks like if you are driving it? Think these could be useful if doing a lot of miles, especially from bugs or stone chips.
I can see a Passat estate on its daily trip from Milton Keynes to Glasgow wearing one....

These things are great., They build up a huge layer of moisture under them, mixed with mud and dirt, and cause havoc to the body.
They work fine in California, and mohave desert, where the idea came from. NOt on the M1 on wet wedenesday in February.

How many last model Ford Scorpios were sold on that logic, i wonder?
|
My vocabulary is defeated.
What kind of mind could think of such a thing? On second thoughts, I don't want to know - I shall just be grateful that I don't have it!
|
I thought they were meant to have a "side effect" of disrupting laser guns.
|
It would be even better in tartan, and the driver could be painted in blue woad.

Education needed over here - what are spinners, please?
I googled car spinners and found some wind-driver propeller things and some wheel trims.

In that case, you found them. They are wheel trims that spin independently of the wheel. Thus, at a standstill, you look like your wheels are still moving (or vice versa) making people take a second look at you, which is obviously very important.
They are classed as "bling" and apparently look cool. When they appear on a J reg Cavalier (the first thing I ever saw them on) they just look arrestingly naff.
Apparently they are available for as much as £22,000. Well worth it, I'd say.

Here's about the best pic of a spinner I could find. Freewheeling wheel covers or inserts, I guess.

greenhey -
unfair game - because just when i have got used to playing it, you go ahead and change the rules:
www.honestjohn.co.uk/forum/post/index.htm?v=e&t=93...4
www.honestjohn.co.uk/forum/post/index.htm?v=e&t=27...8
much prefer if you keep the game rules the same ( but then you seem not to stick around to reply to your threads so i doubt whether you will read this ).
maybe if a game is good, it is worth repeating it every now and again. enjoy.
