Driver jailed after 47th ban offence - artful dodger {P}
A quote from today's Telegraph.

Driver jailed after 47th ban offence
A motorist described in court as having the most convictions for driving while disqualified was jailed for a year yesterday after he flouted a ban for the 47th time.
Jamie Manderson,32, a nightclub doorman from Swindon, Wilts, also had more than 130 other convictions, magistrates in Weymouth, Dorset, were told.
His latest ofences occurred on Sept 7 when he drove away from a petrol station without paying for £35.00 of fuel.


Why is it some people think laws do not apply to them. Personally I do not think the sentence was long enough.

Why did it take 47 ban offences before they jailed him?
I'd have thought that after two or three in a short time they should have realised that a ban wasn't a big enough deterant and thrown away the key at that point.

I note some press reports are truncated.
Others list the number of times he has been in jail for traffic and other serious activities.

I really mean it. If you?re unlucky, you cross paths with donkeys like this once or twice in a lifetime. They cause misery on a daily/hourly basis wherever they go, not just with motorists, but with neighbours, family, shoppers, drinkers. I had one as a neighbour once, fortunately not for very long, so deepest sympathies to anyone who?s encountered this idiot.

I won?t buy it that there?s anything reformable or redeemable about them, just a huge bag of useless crap. This one?s a doorman so he won?t be small, I actually feel sorry for other inmates wherever he?s banged up. I hope his demise is a sticky one, preferably violent and extremely prolonged.
