H reg celica gt4..rotten sills?? - steveo30
my mate has a presentable gt4 celica on a H plate, he came around the other day to show off his new stainless exhaust, while i laid in the road having a look i noticed the sills where rotten...i recon i could poke a hole as big as my fist on one side and the other would make a hole if proded

is this a common thing on celicas?? ive not seen many rusty jap cars at all...the rust is level with the back edge of the door

If a personal import (as opposed to a car destined for the UK market) there will be less underseal/ seam sealant etc as Japanese cars only last some 5-6 years iirc before being recycled..

No its not common on 4th Generation Celicas, which resist rust extremely well, with early 90's models still looking very clean. As suggested, its possibly a Jap import (distinguished by their square rear number plate mainly, though the speedo might be in Kph etc)

yeah it is an import from japan....but i still didnt expect to see such rot...god knows what its like right underneath
