Tyre Blowout - mikes
I have recently had a tyre blowout doing 60 and it was a experiance I wouldnt want to happen again I have been told tyron bands are good or is there an additive you can inject into the tyre which fills the puncture as you are moving

Depends waht you mean by blowout. If the tyre exploded no additive will save it, but it is possible to protect against punctures. A slime like additive is added through the valve,but this can cause an imbalance in the tyre.
The only way to be sure is to check the tyres regularly for pressure,nails,stones, tread etc

Tyre Blowout - Robin Reliant
These additives increase the risk of a blowout, as you are driving round with a damaged tyre structure. Best to suffer a puncture and have the tyre inspected by a specialist who will advise on whether it is repairable or not.

I too have had a high speed tyre failure, and I would not want another.

Having had several 'blow outs', regrettably due to toe rags with nails, I've found that modern cars feel little ill effects compared with older ones regarding handling.

that might be one opinion but as most blowouts are caused by overheating/overflexing side walls often caused by running overload or incorrect pressures there is no way an additive which will help maintain tyre pressure as near to where it should be can increase risk of blow out,that said however it is no substitute for regular tyre inspection and changing tyres if there is sign of damage.I use it in many tyres from 4.5psi up to tyres running at 110psi and have no problems (or punctures)

Never had a blow-out in a car as such.
Only violent deflation was caused by hitting a defective, protriding, expansion joint on the M6 Manchester ship canal bridge. Knocked tyre bead off rim temporarily I guess. Tyre then reinflated itself by the time I'd got to a service area and was very hot.Next day when it had cooled was sucked into the rim.
No visible damage, but obviously replaced it.
