Just replaced the hard and noisy Michelins on my Picasso witb softer (I guess) and much more comfortable and quieter Nokians. Whatever you decide on, I'd recommend (as others have here on this site) that you check out mytyres.co.uk for their keen prices and prompt delivery. I had mine delivered to home within 48 hours, had them fitted locally and saved a decent sum of cash. If I had paid KwikFit's first price for 4 Michelins (I never would have) it would have been £360 but I ended up paying £202 for 4 quality tyres.

What's currently fitted to it, and why not stick with that make?

tomandjerry56 - do you find the Zafira gives a really 'bouncy' ride? I changed from Laguna to Zafira, it's much less comfortable and I find the suspension pretty harsh.

For tyre comparisons I always find this site to be of worth. I appreciate it's American but it does allow you to narrow down the choices of manufacturer and then tyre model by selecting how important criteria such as handling and comfort are to you, and then it makes "recommendations" for your consideration.

In my case I own a car sold in the States as well, so I can find the originally supplied tyre from the manufacturer for comparison purposes too. If you don't, you can search by tyre size instead.

Of course, on occasion some of the recommendations will be particular models of tyres (or tires I suppose) not specifically available over here, as I discovered to my cost - (ah yes sir, we DO sell Goodyear, but the Maxipuff 200 version is not for sale in Europe) but nonetheless it has proved handy to me in the past as a first pass to whittle down the choices.

Someone might find it useful, if not the OP.

Slightly at a tangent, I need new tyres for my VW Transporter. My 20k per annum is mostly commuting on fast (60mph) A roads either fully laden or almost empty.Does it really matter if I choose (I usually do!)the cheapest non branded or go branded? Tyre noise is not an issue on my HiRoof but wet weather grip is!In winter I use spare steel wheels with Vredestein knobbly things, got from my local breakers yard. Surely on 'commercials' the performance criteria are less of an issue, slower cornering speeds and sloooooow acceleration, so long as their is plenty of tread to clear water and tyre life is 30k+ I'm happy...no wheel spinning with my 78bhp.

If you go to the Autoexpress website you'll find a pdf file of their recent tyre comparison tests (3Aug05 issue).
