Updates on issues raised in the BR - Hugo {P}
I'm posting this really in my role as BR member rather than moderator.

I enjoy reading about some of the issues raised here, and am keen to find out how the OP resolved them.

Many members come back and post updates to their issues about how they solved problems. However, for various reasons, some have not. I don't see it as compulsary for everyone to do this, indeed there are many reasons why people may not feel comfortable in updating the rest of us. I for one wouldn't want to pry.

However, if the outcome is of interest to the BR (whether successful or not), and you have no reluctance to do this, please could you consider taking a few minutes to let us know how you did. Not only is it of interest to see how the BR has helped people, but others here may have similar issues, where the outcomes may be read across.

The "Vectra Clutch Slip" thread currently running in "Technical matters" is an excellent example of this, providing a potential solution to a problem in 8 or 10 posts.

Leaving the subject a little, would it be possible to put a spell checker on the site? Perhaps a grammar check too, of the type to catch writing i for the personal pronoun instead of I.

I bless myself whenever I make a simple mistake.

What would Dalglish do then though? ;-)

There's plenty of things you can do with one hand.

you mean the "bankers" who can count all the notes they have got taken from no-dosh. or are you talking from experience ? ;-)

(adamski - ever wondered how i managed to get the capital letter in my name ? ) or the ? ( ) etc. characters in this note ?

anyway a spellchecker won't tell people that:
lose is not = loose
led (not lead) is the past tense of lead
piece of mind is not the same as peace of mind
brake is not the same as break
there you are, their your, etc. etc.
enuf said.

I know it's fully intentional Dalglish.

*chortle*

What can I say. Friday came early :o)#)

I was talking from experience as one-handed typing is essential when using the PDA. There's no room for the other one.

This has been mentioned before. I don't think there are likely to be any plans for this at the moment. My persoanal experience is that they can slow the posting process down.

One way around this is to type your post in Word or similar with the spell and grammer checker on, then paste it onto here.

*Not taking your own advice, Hugo!

Thanks Frostie.

I was just trying ND's advice on the one handed typing.....;)

Please don't tar all of us with the same brush ;o)

Indeed, change brushes between moderators. You can use the same tar though.

Rather than a brush can i use a big stick?

Right, 2 more for the black book.
Backroom Bustups Part 72? - HF
Goodness it's a while since I've seen any 'disagreements'.

I don't believe there's any boxing on tonight so I'll watch here for any more developments.

Being angelic, of course I would not dream of contributing myself...0;)
