Every dealing I have ever had with Traffic Police has been, at the least, polite and professional. It has frequently been an excellent service.

I think speed cameras are a good idea and there should be thousands of the things everywhere; they should be hidden, camouflaged, disguised and generally there to catch people.

I think an awful lot of the speed limits in this country are a nonsense, and I long for the day when the camera fools stop whining about cameras and work out that the real issue is the speed limits.

People with no insurance on their cars should have their car crushed and their licence thrown away.

Ditto drink/drivers.

The Congestion Charge is a good idea, or at least it would have been if it had been backed by an investment in public transport and out of town, secure, car parking. It should actually be about £50 with exemptions for obvious cases. Public transport should run for 24 hours so that people can get in an out of work at anytime.

Truck drivers (truckies) should realise that they are not there to police traffic merging and generally don't understand how it works anyway. They should concentrate on getting their own house in order first.

Legislation against SUVs, 4x4s and most other vehicles is normally based upon either the politics of envy or the sincerely held belief that if I don't want to do it you shouldn't be allowed to. (please note I said "normally")

That about covers it, now bring it on...................

Oh, and I support the police closing roads after an accident for as long as they deem it appropriate. I have to concede that I am not there, I am not an expert, I don't know the whole story so I bow to their procedures and expertise.

Going by the supportive replies you've had I'd say your vocation is more mod than troll. Now come on, say something nice about Linux. That should get them going.

Its the ramblings of a madman ChrisR, not a lunatic.

So that's what happens when you get a bit of spare time?

I didn't take that lobotomy crack seriously, but now I'm wondering...

Drat, I pretty much agree with everything you say. Hmm, now where is NW when you need her. She'll tie you in circular arguments for weeks ;-) or hit you with her handbag.... Speed limit 50 mph in built up areas and 120 mph everywhere else. Unless driving a BMW in which case limits would be 30 and 60 respectively :-)))

I'd add that drunk & drugged drivers probably need to be inside the car when it gets crushed if they ever do it a second time :-)

It will be a small circle, with me stood in the wings with the moderating buttons.

I'm looking forward to this new era; I know what Mark's like when he gets going and hasn't got the restraints in place

Seems perfectly reasonable to me Mark...

but can we really debate or will be simply be edited to look like fools, while mark has the opportunity to edit his stuff to refect his after thoughts

like mark i have lots of personal experiences, but i also take on board what my family and friends pass on, as learning from them also helps, so for instance the frustration with the police at the moment seems pretty common, lots of speeding tickets, no tickets ever issued for driving an inch from your rear bumper etc

i would ban caravans, let them stay in b and b or travelinn like everyone else

do not agree with 24 hour transport or people near train lines will never be able to sleep, although some longer hours would be good

sleeper trains should run up the east coast main line every night as well as the west coast, with stops in newcastle etc

air con the tube trains

bring back station masters, and add real security measures at train station car parks, and reduce the price of parking at them if the car parks are regularly empty

make it possible for patients to actually park at a hospital when they are ill and need to see a doctor

yea increase some speed limits

positive points as well as negative ones, for example 10 years no accidents and at least 10,000 miles a year should be plus 12 points

get rid of the little men in their camera vans and put the money into a sensible health service

remove all speed bumps

11 points for driving a customised saxo

ban smoking on all public transport

bring back trains where there is enough space for passenger luggage (some of the newer ones have no room if a few passengers dare bring luggage)

stop ministers cars from using bus lanes, make them queue like everyone else

force ken to drive a 4 x 4

scrap most cycle lanes as a under used waste of money, use the money to give all kids cycling proficiency training

carefully review which foreign licences we accept

actually prosecute and fine etc foreign drivers caught doing things brits get hammered for

allow machine guns in the front grill

My experience of reading some of the stuff you write would be that you need help from no man.

>>like mark i have lots of personal experiences

Please do not make assumptions about me. If you wish to state that you have lots of personal experience, then by all means do so. If I wish it stated about me than either I, or someone who actually knows me, will do it.

The rest of your note is meaningless drivel which I daresay you believe to be witty.

Enough of the personal attacks, thank you Mark, no matter how justified you feel you are.

Bet you're glad you quit now.

I got severely told off over a few light hearted comments about our friends across the channel, you know the ones who lost the olympics.

Today I have read some very>controversial and political posts, many from Mark, I wonder what is going on.

Is the post above meant as a joke?

Lots of stuff and nonsense deleted, not to mention some of the personal comments also trashed along with it.

Sorry if anything worthwhile got removed whilst trimming up this thread.

One of my friends reckons that stupid people should also be taken away and crushed. Would you agree?
