Something's wrong with the system - I tried to vote and 'IT' thinks I've voted already. Anyway put one more vote down for tailgating {manually added. DD}. The Government and the police seem never to get the point that this is far more dangerous than speed on its own.

The thing that really gets me going id failing to indicate properly. Morons who indicate right on roundabouts without indicating left to exit.
Morons who indicate left all the way round a roundabout.
Morons who pull up at the front of a right turn/straight ahead lane and only indicate right after the lights have changed.
Morons who indicate to change lanes when they are already halfway through the manoeuver.

nice and easy BAD driving we all make mistakes and most will make allowances for a bit of daydreaming etc but there is no excuse for BAD driving . you have to reach a certain standard to obtain a licence but some are just plain scary . i actually know one person and i will not get in their car , i have told them it's because i believe that they are going to kill someone and i dont want to be in the car when it happens. it's not speeding they actually dont drive that fast they just dont know what's going on when they are driving...cheers...keo.

People who cut you up - had one of those the other day who swerved across me to get to the outer lane, even though I was about to overtake.
People who park on country roads just the other side of a crest in the road. Yes, blue Transit on the road to the breaker's yard today, that means you. Can also apply to people who park just after a blind bend. Haven't ever hit anyone as a result of this sort of stupidity, but have often thought that someone else probably will.

Goes a bit beyond irritating but the driver who reversed around a sharp bend as he'd hit a squirrel! Imagine a familiar country road, no sight lines on this particular bend due to foliage.
Although I missed him, I doubt I have done it without ABS.

Plenty of scope for pedantry, NW. For example, I find several of the options irritating but a small number not irritating. I can only vote for one or all, not a selection...
If you ask nicely I'll train you in the ways of pedantry. But there is a long way to go, I'm afraid.... ;-)

keo-the-dog: Funny you should mention about bad driving. Someone who used to work in the same company as me set up one of the well known anti-speeding web sites where he describes himself as an expert driver. According to colleagues, travelling in his car as a passenger was a 'white knuckle ride'. I guess we all need a little bit of humility when it comes to criticising others.

Ooo no you can actually get irritated by by someone you know is going to do something they have not actually done yet.
Take the sitting in the right lane driver in front not indicated right yet. You know he is going to, you wait, you get angry, frustrated. This is the Pre Road Rage Tension (bit like PMT but faster). The lights change, red, red/yellow, green -INDICATE

And hence you would have noted the remarks I made were in reference to being peeved about things that could happen (can do), might happen (going to do) and did happen (actually does).

Drivers who potter along in the middle lane of the motorway when the inside lane is empty.I love the gormless look they give me when i undertake them.Maybe they will eventually get the message;the middle and outside lane are for overtaking(obviously this in reality applies at quieter times on the motorway)

People who smoke at the wheel. They don't seem to be paying attention to the road and I'm certain the nicotine sends them off into a dreamlike state, as they never signal or show the slightest sign of courtesy to other drivers when they have a fag in their hands.

People that drive with both hands at the 12 o'clock position on the steering wheel (and sometimes with their forearms touching the face of the wheel) irritate me. I can't imagine that they have much control of the steering.

I would like to have seen "Drive with children not properly belted in in the car". I really get annoyed with drivers who can drive around with young children standing up on the back seat or otherwise not under control.

Tailgating
Driving a Porsche Cayenne
Failing to signal
Driving too slowly in good conditions
Middle-lane hogging
Driving with fog lights on unnecessarily
Use of mobile phone
Corner-cutting

I'm with Keo here. BAD driving - not the day to day irritations but the ones that leave you taking an involuntary deep breath. Examples include
* overtaking at high speed on the inside (undertaking?)
* swerving across motorway lanes on joining the carriageway
* misjudging oncoming traffic whilst overtaking causing both traffic flows to brake sharply
* doing any of the above whilst on their mobile
The people who do this always seem to "get away with it" and you can imagine them thinking that the rest of us are mugs.

People like those who ignored me shouting at them to help get into a guy unconcious and trapped in his car after an acccident on the M1 (J13-12 southbound) on Friday morning.
In the end, another driver stopped and helped me, we were there literally seconds after the accident. To all those who pushed by in their rush to get to work, past me while I was trying to boot in a window as the driver inside lay back in his seat knocked senseless and streaming blood: I hope you got to work on time!
They should be ashamed of themselves: Including the one that nearly ran me over.

This is slightly annoying. The site that hosts the polls has died again. It appears that the owner should have renewed it on the 3rd May, but hasn't.
From memory, when I last looked at the results, the thing that irritated you most was tailgating, and the least was people who break the speed limit.
If I can obtain the final results, I'll publish them at a later date.
