tyre pressures? 1998 Ford Mondeo - rob57
Hi, I have just bought a ford mondeo 2.5 V6 Si hatch 1998, I have no owners manual, does anyone know the correct tyre pressures for my car?
it is fitted with the original alloy wheels and low profile 205/50/16 tyres, at the moment they are all at 30Psi but look on the soft side

According to the following sites, 30 psi seems to be the correct pressure.

many thanks Dave, those sites are very useful btw,
it's just that i checked the pressures when i first got the car and they were all at 48Psi!, now with just 39Psi in they look too soft...............never mind it must be just me!

Rob,

Radial tyres *always* give the impression they're underinflated.

Are you sure your gauge is accurate? What are you using to check the pressures? Might be worth while checking with another one to confirm.

i am using a new digital guage so it should be ok?, i will inflate them to 31Psi i think

My Mondeo Owners Guide says 31 front and rear but a full load 35F and 41R for my 205/50 R16 shod 2.0L but same applies to the V6.

The mk3 V6 has 31 psi rear, 33 psi front, in the handbook and the fronts still look soft and they wear more on the outer edge, suggesting that 33 psi is under inflated.
