Short of buying a haynes manual, anyone know how to remove the rear bumper from a Mondeo Estate. I,ve dropped a bag of plaster on mine and cracked the top face. I want to get it off to get it GRP patched underneath to stop the crack extending.

Would help if you said which year!

I've done a mk1 estate. First remove the towbar [took most of the time for me]!

Then 4 bolts behind the rear valance, remove the screws around the rear wheelarches (behind the plastic liners) and slide it off rearwards. There are some pins which support weight of the leading edge - these often shear in a crash but should be OK on yours.

Replacement bumpers are about £100 sprayed the right colour. Some fit better than others.

Sorry, 1997 P reg facelifted Mk1, could i do this on stands, i have access to a 4 post lift but i would have to do it during work time.
