Had the MOT done yesterday evening.
Needs rear trailing arm bushes both sides - apart from that ok.
Hopefully get new bushes today and fit them tommorow 'cos if I want the free re-test it has to be done in 7 days. I'm assuming fitting new susp. bushes is fairly simple.
All in all a result. With the reassurance of a fail certificate [1] in my pocket it was succesfully speed tested on the motorway this morning. [2]
The whole incident has cost me 1 tyre, 1 wheel and 2 months mot.
Thanks to all of those who've offered sound advice over the last couple of days.
[1] Yeah - ironic isn't it!
[2] In so much as the word speed applies to a Rover 414!!!

Dave,
the important thing is
[a] you are back mobile
[b] you didn't hurt anything (but your pride)
and
[c] you have the guts to acknowledge what a blithering idiot you were in the first place! (most people would find somebody else to blame - "This stupid woman pulled out in front ... I had no choice, had to hit the kerb.." etc )
Glad to hear that everything is back to ok - now, repeat after me "DON'T DO IT AGAIN!"

Hey! It's easy to be honest using an assumed name on a bulletin board! I told my mates I swerved to avoid a kitten while I was racing to Hospital with a replacement heart for an sick child!
Thank's for your comments!

replacement heart? I find that hard to believe.
Tell them that a police officer had comandeered the car to rush Salman rushdie to a place of safety.
They'd buy that.
