I just acquired a set of 205 1.9 GTi wheels (the speedlines) to put on my 306 as i have always liked them. However im not sure what wheel bolts to use with them? Do i need special bolts - and do these need to be the flat type or tapered? Anyone got any ifo for me?
cheers

If you have steel wheels fitted now you will certainly need to change the bolts. Alloy wheels tend to be thicker than steel and need longer ones. I have had two different Citroens(related to Peugeot) with alloy wheels and they have been located by a plain shank part of the bolt with a built in flat washer under the head. If the wheel has a definate taper where the bolt locates, you will see it You may be lucky and find that the 205 bolts fit. Whatever, if you are unsure, don't take any chances, driving a 3 wheeled 306 could be "hairy". It may be worth talking to a local dealer or specialist or aftermarket wheel/tyre supplier. Don't forget, when you fit them, apply a thin coat of anti-sieze compound to the hub face, where the wheel contacts, and the bolt shank to avoid corrosion and the wheel/hub bonding themselves together. (There was a SAAB with this problem in the technical matters recently with this problem)

I'd go to German, Swedish & French and buy a full set of 205 1.9 GTi wheelbolts.

cant seem to find the bolts on GSF at all - do you have their part number?

I dont' have a part number sorry, the website listings can be a bit vague I know!
Best bet is to call your local branch and explain what you need.
Hope you sort it...

Surely the shape of the alloy wheel will show you the type of bolt required? The hub plate takes only a parallel-sided bolt shank. My 306 alloys take flat bolt heads, but wife's Clio needs taper bolts.

I've just purchased a set of bolts for Peugeot alloys at
www.trackstore.co.uk/wheelfix.html
£1.80/bolt

I upgraded my DTurbo to XSI alloys and my wifes XR to my DTurbo alloys.
I got a set of bolts from a scrap yard, I was surprised that thay we quite common - 205, 306, 406 all have the same THREAD LENGTH and WASHERS. So any will fit, you just need to make sure that they are the right length so they do not stick out of the wheel (XSI bolts are very long)
Bottom line try a couple of local scrap yards...
