Hi there,
Have just purchased a used 306 Hdi 90 L, so am new to it all.
Today whilst driving, i was just using the rear wiper, and then it suddenly stopped working. There was not smoke or anything. I have checked the fuses and the relay near the motor, they all seem to be fine and working properly. Do you think the problem could be the motor itself?
can it be repaired or does it simply have to be replaced?
If so, how much would it cost?
cheers,
Paul

Could it be a cable or connectoion running between boot and chassis? Did the wiper stop half-way up the screen or at rest? If at rest then it may well be what I suggest. If in the middle of the screen then it's possibly the motor. If it's a cable connection between boot and chassis and you intend on replacing it yourself, do yourself a favour and replace the other wires running through there like the rear windscreen heater. By the way, is the heater still working?

Paul - seems to me you need to set the wiper switch 'on' and test for a voltage at the wiper-motor terminals. If your fuses are indeed OK, that could indicate whether the motor or the wiring had failed.

Hi there,
thanks for the replies.
The wiper blade stopped just after lifting off from resting position. I have also tested the voltages, wehther or not this is correct, there are 12 volts running through it. I have not tested to see if the heaters work, by this I'm assuming you mean the heated rear windscreen.
regards,
Paul.

How many wires feed into the wiper motor? I don't know your model specifics, but I would have thought it would need two, one feed from the ignition, and another from the wiper switch.
