I'm no expert (I just use my insurance a lot!), but I wouldn't have thought that going to interviews would be classed as business use.

You will need to add "commuting to and from a single place of work" or whatever it is to your policy when you start the job though.

I think that's right. Be aware that commuting to a place of work does not always give cover for business use. Business use is a bit of a grey area. It could for example include taking work home with you, possibly even just a report to read. And if you use the car during the day to go to another branch of the firm, that might be business use, not commuting.

cub leader, there is a help e-mail address on elephant's website try firing a message there to see if you are covered for interviews, I expect you will have to inform them, and pay more, if you start using the car to get to your placement location but since thats not till next summer you can sort that out then
cheers

When I started my current job I thought I might need business class 1 insurance (for reasons I won't go into). Some people said I did (and gave sensible reasons), others said I didn't (and gave sensible reasons).

In the end I decided to just get it and be done with it, rather than take the (albeit small) risk. Cost was £17 with practically a year to run - about 1.5% extra on my premium at the time.

Thought that might help you make your decision.
