98 Laguna Dti-Turbo stops boosting - leeintheuk
When I start the car and set off the car is fine and the turbo boosts as normal, until the SERV and Injection lamps illuminate.
The car then goes into limp home mode and is so slow its not funny!.
The fault is not with the turbo unit but seems to be electrical??
Hope someone knows the cause of this annoying problem.

Regards To All

Something is causing the system to drop into LOS mode. The chances are that there will be a fault code logged which may shed some light on the fault. Turbo could be overboosting which will cause the system to limit power to protect the (fragile) engine. First step is to find someone locally with the kit to read the codes.

Thanks for the reply.
The Laguna has been code read and it came up with a dodgy injector 4 (the one with the sensor), this has been replaced with no effect.
The EGR valve has been checked and is working ok.

I have just read a thread on Parker's Forum Re:1.9DCI with the same problem and apparantly it turned out to be the airflow meter after much money spent on other parts and diagnotic checks.

Im not sure how similar the 1.9 dti and the 1.9dci engines actually are?.

Im now wondering if I may be suffering with a dodgy airflow meter too.
The mileage is 111k now and the car has been serviced regularly from new.

Just a final thought about overboosting, I suppose the problem could lie with a faulty wastegate or actuator on the turbo???

Thanks Again

The Dti and the DCI are not that similar. The Dci has its own unique little foibles.
