I have a new C-Max. The Message Centre in the dashboard offers a choice of "steering settings": Standard, Sport and Comfort. This feature is not described in the manual. The Ford telephone helpline can't offer technical advice and the dealer who supplied the car has never heard of it!!
Does anyone know what this does? I've tried changing the settings but can't detect any difference between them.

I would have initially said that it's the suspension settings your referring to ...... but HJ's road test of the Mazda 3 (C-Max's first cousin) refers to re-setting the steering via the OBDC on the Mazda and C-Max.

The dealer thought it ought to be suspension too...
He also thought it might be the controls for a feature that wasn't fitted.
As the steering is electric hydraulic it makes sense that there would be some way to vary its behaviour, but if I can't tell the difference, what's the point?

I have the answer from Ford. The current C-Max is fitted with a "next generation" instrument cluster, which includes the software to control the programmable ehpas that will be fitted to the new Focus and later C-Max.

5th gear, testing the new Focus referred to three settings for the electic power steering.
Some commonality there?
