Likely to be a door, hatch or window seal. You need to strip out the trim over the cills and have a look under the carpet, to see where it is wet.
I cured a VW this way but never an Uno. Sued the dealer who could not find the fault on a brand new car.

Espada III - well if you have a family and need a Lamborghini, what else do you drive?

Hatch? Saloon?
And you nicked my thread name!

sorry 5 door hatch back i stripped out the drivers side plastic but cant get behind the innner skin!!

Could be a leaky rear light cluster seal.
ps, this\'ll get moved across to Technical Matters at a later point today. Done DD.

I could be way out because I have a saloon myself but I heard that the back window moved around slightly. This could apparently cause rust from chipping the paint in the sill but I'm thinking it could be the cause of your water leak.
Usually way off though...

I and my daughter have exactly the same problem, flooding in the front passenger footwell. Anyone any ideas? Mine is a 2002 four door hatchback.
|
Almost certainly leaking from around the pollen filter. Has it been serviced recently?

I have exactly the same problem. Not just a leak but flooding on a ford focus zetec 1.6 2001.

Fords have been renowned for leaks since mk3 escort..It has been mentioned before about light cluster gaskets leaking.Would suggest remove panels. As the leak has been there for a while it will show up as light grey/white lines on interior bodywork leading to flood area.depending on where the leak is will identify what action is to be taken..Leaks are pretty simple usually to sort out due to water always leaves a mark..Hope that helps

I think I've posted this before, but...
You can usually find the source of a leak by fixing strips of newspaper or loo-roll around and above the damp area to show you where the water is running.
