How do i find out what the actual colour of my car is, so a can do some spray work. Is there a code somewhere?

Most probably the code is on the aluminium plate under the bonnet which also has the VIN No. stamped on it. It'll *should* either be on the bulkhead, or the slam panel.

On my mark I 306 it is next to the right hand (as viewed from the front of the car) suspension strut, and is usually a four letter code. eg mine is POWP.

On a Mk2 306 there is an adhesive label stuck in the scuttle recess by the nearside bonnet hinge, facing the screen (i.e. backwards). Two rows of numbers and a 4-letter paint code. Only the middle two letters corresponds to the code on the Peugeot paint-stick. There is a website which lists lots of Pug paint codes, but IIRC it is Australian and doesn't help us much.

On my 306 HDi Meridian X-reg, according to the handbook and (French) manual, there is supposed to be a paint code on a stuck-on label on the driver's door edge, below the lock - the same one which gives info on tyre pressures etc. In actual fact, not only is the paint code missing from there, but I cannot find any paint code anywhere whatsoever on the vehicle.

The Tetrosyl (Carplan) web site www.tetrosyl.com/paintguidetext.cfm?passtype=cars&...y gives some useful information on the Carplan range of paints, which include nearly all modern cars.
But some of the data isn't as clear as it could be. For instance, my Mk1 306 has paint code P3LA on a label near the left side front suspension turret. This is shown as LA on Tetrosyl's table and corresponds to four different types of Midnight Blue (not counting foreign language versions) - all with the wrong model year. This then cross-references to two Tetrosyl products, Midnight Blue A and Midnight Blue B. But with insufficient information to identify the correct choice for my car.
But it's still a lot better than nothing!

What a brilliant link thanks, just found out my Reliant is Sunburst Red a Ford colour. NOw I can touch in the paint chips.

You can always pop down the Pug dealer & ask them what colour your paint is.

Peugeot used to use a 4 letter code, in silver letters near the suspension strut. They even used this on my silver 806. Very helpful!!

My car also has the paint code POWP. Can anyone tell me if this is know as Bianca White as I'm trying to buy some matching spray paint from Halfords. Thanks
