NCDC 2013 navigation system - Vectra C - svpworld
I\'ve just bought one of these units second hand to fit as a replacement to the CD player in my Vectra C SRi. Does anyone have experience of upgrading this? I assume I need to install a GPS antenna somewhere but what about the wiring? Is it the same? Anything I need to check?

Simon

The aerial you need, has a fatter bottom ie. with the GPS antenna built in the base. eg.

The aerials have 2 or 3 flyleads off as some have mobile phone too.
Also, you need the GID (graphic info) or CID (colour) display with nav capabilities. These are coded to the radio, so the previous owner will have to unmarry the screen from the nav radio you buy, and then you (or your dealer) will have to marry your radio/nav and screen using TECH 2.

Yes I did manage to install the NCDC2013 with a mono GID display and a GPS antenna fitted behind the display in the dash. I purchased an external GPS antenna and fitted the appropriate SM connector (available from RS components), but I need to plug the connector in before sliding the unit into the cradle as it doesnt mount in the metal cradle rear.
I also had to visit my Vauxhall dealer and have the main unit and displays coded to my vectra using the TECH 2... a lot of fuss but a great system! Unfortunately less than 12 months afterwards the cd drive mechanism (single slot) packed up, so I had to purchase another unit and replace the mechanism!
I'd like to add a colour screen but now I tend to use my PDA and Tom Tom more than the NCDC unit!
