Accord V Avensis re timing chain/belt

Accord V Avensis re timing chain/belt - Woody
Could someone please clarify the position on 3/4 year old Accord 1.8 (VTEC) and Avensis 1.8 (not VVT).

Do they have belts or chains and what are the replacement mileages?

To the best of my knowledge, the Accord has a belt. On the 2.0SE I had, the replacement mileage was 70,000. I asked the service department what would happen if it snapped before then. His reply was "Honda would look into it." Very comforting.

2003 Accord 2.4 - Andy P
Just a little bit of info (if anyone is interested) - the 2.4 engine in the current Accord has a chain-driven camshaft.

(puts down stick of nerdiness and hides in the corner of the garage....)
