Hum difficult one.
There a few ways of tunning a diesel.
1- Cheap resister mods faking the ECU causing increased power the crudest way (not saying its a bad way of making more power)
2- Add on, this is connected into the normal wiring and
piggy backs the normal ecu (this type is used on diesels usually as it adds more fuel every cycle. The disadvantages of this are that injecting after the normal timing that internal combustion temps rise which can get close if not exceed the limits of the turbo also smoke levels rise as much of the extra injected fuel doesn't combust and so gets exhausted whilst unburnt. Make
sure when you buy one of these that it isn't the mod described in 1.
3- Soldering new chips. This is done by the company removing
the chip on the ECU which holds the maps and soldering either another chip in its place or soldering an socket on there. This is so the ECU chip maps can be swapped at resale/servicing) it has the advantage of being the method that custom remapers often use to get the ECU mapping done.
4- New remap. This is done via the OBD port and is the latest type of programming. Completion it is compelted by laptop programming the ecu via the diagnostics port (the one under the ash tray) it leaves no trace and is used by companies such as www.superchips.co.uk. The disadvantages of this are that you arn't able to sell the mod on as its totally electronic the next owner is the only possible buyer. Companies such as Superchip give you the old mapping on a credit card sized chip so when you come to sell the car the car can be returned to any dealer and the old mapping reinstalled.

If you want my opinion if your wanting the best remap type and don't have a warently to worry about then go with a remap from a company who know what there doing (preferably custom remapers).
Thats an expensive way cheape is to use a tunning box its more crude but as long as its not a stupid over powering one you should be fine.

But regards superchip I'd say go to there main dealership down south and use them they know what they are doign and will adjust the maps there and then just for your likes. I've heard some poor stories about superchip franchise places who don't know ther first thing about problems and just run the software with no care for your car. Take it to the main superchiop place and they kow what there on about.

O ya and before I forget Mr hoot does some cheap boxes for sale (have a google search for them) just make sure you don't go buying one of his resister mods and pay tunning box prices.Gains fromt he 90hp can be ~110hp.
The 110hp peugeot engina is very similar to the 90 I belive the differecne mainly being an intercooler so if you want total original relaibility (not saying a tunning box ect will make them unreliable) then you may be abel to buy the intercooler for a scrappie and fit them to yuor car.

If you fit an intercooler, you will probably need a different turbo and also the ECU remapping to intercooled standards.

I would positively recommend the box from East Coast Racing www.dieselchiptuning.com/catalog/default.php . I have owned one for 3 weeks (others have much longer experiences here). It gives an amazing kick at 2000 revs and there appears to be no loss of economy or loss of refinement.

All tunning boxes are about the same realt there are some which make more power but they put more load on the engine and make more soot etc.
You won't need a new turbo though with an intercooler. It wouldn't suprise me if the none intercooled and intercooled cars had the same turbo.
An intercooler on its own won't affect anything else it will mean more potential power and so you'l need a custom remap etc to take advanatge of it but on its own there is no problem installing one.
All that will happen with an intercooler is the air charge will be cooler and less compressed so less strain on the engine.

I've had 2 cars chipped by upsolute and have been very impressed by the improvement. The upgrade isn't detectable by diagnostics.
Upsolute will even visit you at home to do the job.
cost was ~£300
