Volkswagen Touran - Trading car in- best to do before or after MOT - anne marie

Hi,
I have a 2011 VW Touran- it is due its MOT at the beginning of January. I know it needs new tyres and wipers, and hopefully little else to get through the MOT. I am planning to trade my car in part exchange for a new car. Do you think I am better off financially trading the car in now without spending anything on it, or should I wait a few months and get a better price with a full year’s MOT?

Appreciate any one with more knowledge of the car trade giving me advice,

It'll make little to no difference on something like this so I wouldn't spend anything on it. The person assessing it will look at the overall condition, the service history and then look at the book value. No consideration will be made to Mot on a car of this value unless it's tatty/very high mileage and not suitable for retail.
