I recently bought this car, was impressed with the low mileage and ir ran smoothly on the test drive, it also has a full service history and is generally immaculate. MOT was April 2016.

All had been fine until I got onto a motorway, at 70mph in 5th gear. I was maintaining this speed with just my foot pressed lightly on the accelerator.

However, I noticed the occasional "jerk" or "tug", almost as if the car wasn't putting quite enough fuel into the engine. This disappeared as soon as I put my foot down a little and everything was normal. But it would reproduce itself when coasting at around 70mph in fifth gear. Revs over 1500.

I've noticed this at slower speeds in 4th, but far less.

Apart from this the car drives beautifully.

I popped into the local garage and he said it could be faulty fuel injectors (he said up to £1000 to fix!) or a sensor (A few hundred pounds to fix).

Am I being taken for a ride or does this sound genuine? Is there anything else that this could be?
