51 plate citroen relay - Reset airbag light - snuggles1406

Hi all!

Can anyone tell me how to reset the airbag light on my sons van please??

Firstly, the airbag was fine before removal, and was only removed for steering wheel alterations.

However, the ignition was turned on at some point, and ever since, then, the airbag light is on, with the airbag refitted. And as far as I know, there is nothing wrong with the airbag itself! (At least until I can reset it and find out) .

So please can someone help, as it is going for MOT next week!

I suspect it needs a competent garage with the appropriate diagnostic equipment.

I would also suspect that any such garage would want to carry out an inspection, in full, of the installation and steering wheel, as this is a safety-critical piece of kit, BEFORE they would be willing to just reset the light.

Ebay - search for airbag reset. You send your airbag ECU to them and they reset it for about £25.

But that's only if the airbags have been triggered.

If its a wiring fault that's been corrected, then the light will go out after three engine cycles.

If light isn't going out then the fault needs sorting, probably a broken wire.
