Afternoon all, hopefully one of you knowledgeable people will be able to help me please. As in the past I have been taken for a ride on car repairs, and don't really know enough usually to avoid this.
I have a vauxhall corsa c 1.3tdci easytronic 54 plate car. Recently it seems to my untrained eye as if the clutch has started to slip/stick between gears especially if accelerating up a hill (like if you leave the clutch pedal in then apply the accelerator in a manual car) on bad occasions, the transmission warning light illuminates briefly when this happens. At other times the gear changes seem to be brutal/un-subtle. (Sorry if my explications are rubbish i'm really not that mechanical).
About a year ago I was was told by a vauxhall dealer that my clutch was in need of replacement (the issue I had at the time turned out to be with the turbo's intercooler). My question is, do these symptoms seem to suggest that the clutch does need replacing, and also as it is an easytronic box, does it need to go to a specialist garage/vauxhall, or is it just the same process as changing a gearbox in a manual car?
Hopefully this all makes sense, if not I can try to clarify.
I thank you all in advance for any help/advice you can give.
