Lost car keys so got new barrel fitted and ignition key was coded. Engine turns over but immobiliser fault light is on. Can anyone give me an idea how to fix please

If you lost the key and had a new one cut then you will also need to program the chip to match the ignition transponder pick up,

This is not the same as programming the remote control to operate the central locking etc.

There are mobile locksmiths that can do this for you, assuming the new key you bought has a blank transponder inside.

Often they are supplied empty and you have to remove the transponder (chip) from your old key and fit it into the new one.

You can buy a blank/empty chip but either way it will have to be programmed to match the cars immobiliser.

Google "Peugeot Planet Map", you'll find a link to a group of Peugeot experts who have the Planet diagnostic gear which will fix things for you, at the fraction of the cost of a dealer.

I've done a few before. Get a blank chip from Ebay and it takes five minutes to program.
