Citroen Xsara Picasso - Front swivel hub problem - albapa

Hi,

I am in the process of replacing the front suspension struts of a 2005 Xsara Picasso. On the driver side, the bolt that clamp bolt that holds the strut in the hub didn't come out so I ended up drilling it out. It worked but in the process I took out some of the material of the inside of the hole, essentially widening it by a couple of millimeters to one side - not all the way though. Now the question is whether I should replace the swivel hub after this. Thanks for any advice.

Its really up to you. How much metal is left, is it thin anywhere? Unless you have removed a substantial ammount of metal I wouldn't worry providing it goes back together OK.

In the end I drove the car for quite a while like that but finally replaced the hub, for the peace of mind, when I replaced the control arms.
