Ford Fiesta lx 2004 - broken bonnet external latch lever - Amaral15

How can I open my boot now that the black pulley lever that sticks outside the front of bonnet has broken off. I can pop the bonnet when pulling the latch inside car but this only leaves a small gap for me to push my hand in. Please cam someone help.

Bend up a metal coat hanger into a hook and move it around in the gap .Use a torch and you should be able to grab the broken linkage.
