Hi All
I have recently had my 37k DSG Golf MK6 1.4TSI fitted with a new clutch pack to solve the common second gear low speed judder problems under warrantee. This is the dry clutch version.
The new clutch pack and software update has totally fixed the judder but now there's a new problem. The new problem is occasional downshift jerks going into second gear, and some of the jerks are like the clutch has been dumped with no progression at all. Gear upshifts are fine and I've begun to shift the gear selector to neutral when I know that I'm definitely stopping. Neutral opens the clutches so the car is like a rolling manual.
The downshift jerk is related to the deceleration rate and the previous higher gear number but it's still inconsistent. Going downhill tends to make it worse and so does heat. I'm wondering if the work to refit the dual clutch could have damaged something?
I'm advised that the car is still running synthetic oil as per UK policy and I don't believe that there's any later software updates available. I plan to keep the pressure on the VW dealer who has been reasonable to date. Has any one got any suggestions for a DSG cure?
