Nissan Navara D22 - Broken timing chain - SteveCullis

I Have a 2005 Nissan Navara D22. The timing chain has just broken and the vehicle is currently in the garage. The garage want £1000 to fit a new timing chain to turn the engine over and find out whether there has been any engine damage. Is this a good investment of my £1000, what is the likelihood of there being engine damage?

Hi

If the chain has broken the engine will be damaged. These engines have problems with conrod failure are they sure this hasn't happened ? It could be that a conrod has failed and engine seized then the timing chain broke.

If this vehicle has done over 100,000 miles I think you need to think carefully about spending money on it.
