2014 MK 7 VW Golf 1.6 Tdi Blue Motion - Radiator Fan - Helloern

Hi, I recently bought this car with 13,000 miles on the clock, and on 14 mile trip home from the dealer, the rad. fan ran on for at least 5 min. I called the dealer back and was told this was normal. It dosn't do it after every trip, but sometimes.

I'm wondering if it is a sensor fault, but as it dosn't do it every time it probably wouldn't show as a fault on a scanner.

Our previous Mk4 Golf Tdi with 145.000 miles never did that after high speed Continental trips.

I'd be grateful for any advice,

Helloern

As the dealer says,it is normal for this model .It is part of the regeneration programme for the dpf system.

Perfectly normal. My Octavia does the same. Following an active DPF regeneration, if the engine is stopped the fan will continue to run to cool engine components.

I bought a brand new Golf last December and it does this. As others have said, it's completely normal.
