honda crv ex 2008 - headlight removal - stuartr

I need to fit two metal power steering pipes (return side).

They are connected by rubber pipes on either side going round to the front where it acts a cooler pipe and bends back to the reservoir.

Possibly if the RH headlight is removed, I may be able to get access, but I took off the bolts on the top and it still seems fixed.

Not a problem where it goes along the side of the RH side frame, just as it disappears to the front and then round to the front under the headlight.

I removed the wheel arch cover and front lower cover but still very little access. I hope the front panel does not need to come off:-/

I think you will need to remove the bumper for full access

Its looking that way where the front bumper unit will need to come off.

Can anyone tell me how the headlight unit comes out just to satisfy my curiosity?

Thanks in advance

Yes,you need to remove bumper for headlight removal,to access the lower fixing screws.

not really what I wanted to hear:-/ how big a job is it, in time?

Two people needed I guess to support front bumper/panel while removing fixing screws.

Thanks for the info.

Bumpers on modern cars have very little weight, you could easily lift it with one hand. The problem is the bulk of it .Once the plastic stone underguards are released, there will be a few attachment screws/clips and it will slide forward.Probably will need 2 people for support.

Many thanks for your views and technical information.

I shall have a go next week and mention here how it went.

This parts diagram might help you discover where the fastenings are to get to the headlamp unit.

Many thanks for all comments on the Honda CRV removal of head light and front bumper panel.

I removed the front panel/bumper in the end as I was replacing two metal power steering pipes. But it's nice to know how the headlights come out as well.

Like one of the readers mentioned, a couple of hours should complete the front panel/bumper removal/refitting, about right, thanks.

Many thanks for lingshondaparts for the diagrams on parts, that is worth keeping.
