VW Golf mk 6 i.6 tdi - Water pump drought - mike the fiddle

2010 model ,engine code: CAYC.

Put car into local garage for new genuine VW timing belt , tensioner and water pump, 3 weeks ago , and was told that water pumps are on back order.

Today have been told water pumps still on back order , expected date for supply........2044 . No not a mistake A D 2044 !

If the car is in a main dealer VW will not fit alternate parts if vw part number not in stock. As your car is 5 years old no need to get it done in a franchised dealer.

If it is a anywhere else they can get good quality parts from a motor factor.

Update ... phoned VAG Milton Keynes , really helpful . Advised to place an place an official order and phone them back with said number to reserve one . However TPS Benfield said they had a delivery of six expected next day and would hold one back for me , good as their word collected one this morning .Top marks for TPS Benfield and VAG @ Milton Keynes.
