Nissan Qashqai - Jerking,shuddering movement and dropping mpg - ANZIFAM

I purchased a Qashqai 1.5dci '08 plate a couple of months ago with only 38k on the clock. Everything was fine until a couple of weeks when it started to jerk quite noticably. Initially, I thought it may be down to the cold snap, but the problem is still present. I have noted that my mpg has also started to drop. It is almost like driving with oval tyres on(I have checked them and they are fine)!!! Any suggestions what the problem could be?

Try diss-connecting the airflow meter when the engine if off,

start it and see if it has improved,

warning,

this will log an airflow meter fault in the ECU.

but it is a fair side of the road test for a faulty airflow meter.
