Ford Focus 2011 Sport - Spare remote key - james.

Hi,

I've read quite a few old posts and websites and I'm getting conflcting advise as to wether it's easy/reasonable to buy a spare remote locking key for my ford focus.

the key looks like the following...

Is it as straight forward as:

  1. Buying a key
  2. Getting it cut
  3. Progamming the remote using the guides online

?

Any advise would be greatfully recieved.

Not so simple,i'm afraid.You will be able to program the key to open and close the doors,but if you want it to start the car then it will need to be programmed via diagnostics.

ok, I'd missed the diagnostics bit. I assumed that was what the Progamming step was doing.
