Something simmilar happened to me at a traffic lights once before, at night, the light on the left hand side was not working for weeks, and there was a huge truck parked on the right hand side, and I couldn't see they had moved the other light a few meters to the right (the pole where it was was empty).

Just assumed they were out of order and went trough as my road was a main road and had the priority sign, out of order lights are normal in Bucharest. I went trough and when I looked in my rear view mirror, the lights for cars coming the other way were red. I had gone trough a red light, without knowing. It was only when I went trough the same intersection during the day that I saw the light was obstructed by a huge truck.
