Peugeot 206 3dr 80,000 miles - crunching clutch help - smilerkel86

Hi there, i have a 2007 peugeot 206 and the clutch is crunching when i press it. It is also hard to get it into gear and change gears, also the pedal doesnt pip all the way back up without me helping it. Its got gradually worse over the last 2 months. I had a new clutch 7 months ago so really am hoping i dont need a new one. Any ideas people?

It sounds like you do need a new clutch. Seven months is not a long time. Go back to where it was fitted and ask if the job can be done under warranty.

Or it could be a problem with the seals letting clutch fluid by in the master/slave cylinder.

A friend has a 206 and suffered a clutch cable breakage recently. Or are some variants cable and others hydraulic (we don't know what variant we have here though)???

It does sound like it might be the clutch probably a pressure plate failure, but have the cable or hydraulics (whichever it is) checked first.
