peugeot 206 hatchback 14.000 manual - clutch & gearbox problems - jimbruni

I replaced clutch & gearbox in my peugeot 206 manual. I goes into all gears no problem. But when I put car into first gear & take my foot of clutch to pull away, car does not move. just wondering if gearbox I bought second hand out of ebay was faulty.

Do any other gears engage when you let the clutch in?

Yes they all go into all gears when I push the clutch in. somrone said the gear linkage rods might need replaced

Yes you said the lever goes into all the gears. Let clutch in = take foot off pedal. What I mean is will it set off in say 2nd, or reverse?

As you say it's probably the selector linkage that's not working rather than the clutch which is engaged by default if all the bits are there! But if it is engaging at least one gear properly that would eliminate the clutch as the issue is all I was getting at.
