Vauxhall Corsa 06 plate - Car starts/wont move - gazman89

Hi,

I have recently returned from 6 months working abroad. I had been informed while I was away that my car would not move, I suspected the handbrake had seized sue to cold weather. I since learned it wouldn't start (although it does now), I put the car into gear using clutch and try to accelerate. This does nothing other than rev the engine, I then figured through trying other things that I can freely move the gear in and out without the use of the clutch at all. All this occurs while the handbrake is still seized.

Does anyone know what the cause and solution to this problems are? And the likely cost of repairs?

Thanks

Gary

Cycling through the gears with no clutch! It wouldn't make any difference if the handbrake was seized, I can think of only two possibles,

the clutch has gone or the drive shafts/diff is faulty.no drive is reaching the wheels.

otherwise there'd be a lot of gears crashing,

either way it has to go up on a ramp.

"I had been informed while I was away that my car would not move" Who tried to move your car. It sounds as if they have burnt out or broken your clutch. Regards Peter
