Volkswagen Passat - Volskwagen Bluemotion - konrose

Hi all,

Can anyone tell me if it is possible to get a 2011/2012 Passat estate WITHOUT bluemotion ?

I'm looking for one, and would like a 2.0 140/170bhp SE model, but all I can see are Bluemotion or Bluemotion Tech on each.

I thought the 1.6TDI was a bluemotion model with all the stuff that comes with it for lower emissions etc, but didnt realise that it extended across the range.

Or does "Bluemotion Tech" mean something different ?

Im really confused here!

thanks in advance for reading!

All diesels have Bluemotion or Bluemotion Tech (dunno the difference) in the name (and the 1.4 TSI petrol, strangely). They are still seperated into trim levels (S/SE/Sport), so what you're after is a 2.0 TDI Bluemotion SE.

VW aren't the only ones playing silly b*****s with names of diesels, Merc call all theirs Bluetec or something

Indeed. There is more than a whiff of brownmotion about these marketing ploys.

Has anyone noticed that if it is "blue"... or eco.. or equivalent.. the price is a good chunk higher... Nice marketing, save pennies on your motoring costs and pay 1000's for the "privilege" !!!

Mercedes = Blue Efficiency

Skoda = Greenline

BMW = Efficient Dynamics

Volvo = DrivE

Vauxhall = EcoFlex

there's many others and I'm bored now (:>)

I think Bluemotion Tech is actually a trim level including Nav/USB etc with a Bluemotion engine.
