Mercedes Benz C-Class 2011 - Advice on purchase of a Mercedes Benz C-Class 2011 - overthehill
Hi, Looking to purchase a Mercedes Benz C-Class 2.20 CDI 2011. Wondering what are the differences between the Elegance and Executive Models apart from the visual difference on the front grill? Was there a new version released in 2011 and if so how do I know if I am getting newer model? I'm new to the Mercedes Benz vehicles and am looking for fuel efficiency and comfort.

Don't do it, try a supercharged petrol Jaguar, you won't want anything diesel or German after that.

Hi, Looking to purchase a Mercedes Benz C-Class 2.20 CDI 2011.

From a mercedes main dealer with merc warranty OK! but if not be prepared for some big bills, as it is out of manufacturers warranty.

On the other hand, i know the man well who owns a nearby private hire company, very very professional including the way they are driven, no cowboy drivers there, my MB indy services and maintains his E220 Diesels from new.

The last 2 he sold had over 400k miles on them, virtually trouble free, but they were maintained properly with sensible service intervals.

What makes you write such a statement?

The only big issue with this engine has been (piezo-type) injectors, and MB quickly admitted the issue and rolled-out a long term recall/fix (new solenoid injectors <X4> + control module + associated parts). They are STILL carrying this out for any cars that got missed.

The W204 C Class is a good car. The only things I'd be looking for are FULL MB service history for the first 3years of the car at least, and after that main dealer OR a decent MB independent service history. Also check the gearbox fluid has been changed at the recomended 40K interval, if you buy an automatic.

i Must say never had an iisue with my Merc the Jaguar that replace well thats had it's issues. These days diesel are not a now brainer any more. DPF's & the cost of fuel mean the savings are hard realise.

I would thu agree and say go the MB dealer route. If not service history is vital to check out
