Volkswagen Polo IV - Independent garage for VW servicing - arn0ld

Hi, just wondering if anyone had any recommendations on a reliable honestly priced independent garage for servicing a 9 year old polo. I've been getting oil/filter/brake fluid changes at the main dealership (not had anything else done like belts etc so far). but having read through some posts on the forums it looks like i'm probably overpaying at the main dealership, plus i'll be keeping the car until its no longer roadworthy so not worried about full main dealer service history. Somewhere in Maidenhead /Thames Valley area that people trust would be great.Thanks

Its an old car to be taking to a main agents I would sugggest having a look round in your locality or asking a few friends where they take their car for servicing.

Thought its high time I gave up being lazy and just going to the dealership. Was hoping a few people on here who know more about cars than my friends (most of whom don't drive) might be able to recommend somewhere trustworthy within reasonable distance

I do not know any garages in Maidenhead but I know the OP is paying far too much taking his car to a main agents and it was this I was commenting on and to ask friends as where they take there cars.Perhaps you failed to understand that part as your comprehention of english seems to quite poor,

Had a look through the good garage guide that was posted into the thread. Found a VW specialist in reading on there that I'll give a call tomorrow morning. Thanks!

I went school at a time exams had to be worked for and passed. I do not have a problem with English (written or spoken).

Maybe you should look at your own education before comenting on mine.

Harper Motors in Maidenhead (Boyne Valley Ind Estate), Mike Harper. I've been using him for many years on VWs and Skodas. VW trained, very competent and easy to deal with. Friends and family have also used him and been very pleased.

Thanks for the tip! This place looks promising. I was considering a VAG specialist in reading that I found in the good guide but they turned out to be more expensive than main dealer!! Will give Harper Motors a call tomorrow.
